Institute for Excellence in County Government awards Beard for lifetime achievement
INDIANAPOLIS — The Association of Indiana Counties (AIC) announced that Rush County Treasurer Mary Ann Beard received an AIC Institute for Excellence in County Government Life time Achievement Certificate.
Beard was one of 15 county officials from across Indiana who completed requirements in 2012 to receive an AIC Institute for Excellence in County Government certificate. The professional development program was established in 1993.
The AIC is dedicated to assisting county government officials and employees in becoming more efficient, solving tough problems, and finding the resources they need to serve their constituents. The AIC believes that education is the beginning of any successful endeavor, especially within the public service sector.
AIC and Vectren Corporation are helping county officials to continue pursuing their educational goals through webinar classes. Offering classes via a virtual classroom helps county officials to reduce the burden of travel expenses and time out of the office.
