Fifth arrest made in Carthage drug bust

RUSHVILLE — Steven Todd Dalton became the fifth suspect in a drug bust that took place during the early morning hours of April 14.

Dalton, 39, of Carthage, was taken into custody without incident shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday.

Law enforcement personnel had been searching for Dalton for seven days following the arrest of Chhoeun Gamblin Ray, 19, Teresa Ann Dalton, 42, Joseph B. Roland, 22, and Kristen Lea Ruble, 20.

The elder Dalton was not home the evening of the initial arrests when officers from multiple departments raided two Carthage residences and, in the process, also located a rolling meth lab.

All told, eight labs were dismantled during the early morning hours of April 14.

All of those arrested are facing multiple felony drug charges.

Each is charged with possession of methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a public park, possession of methamphetamine, possession of precursors used in the manufacture of methamphetamine, manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, dealing methamphetamine, dealing methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a public park, illegal dumping of controlled substance waste, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.

Each is being held on $100,000 bond.

Chhoeun Dalton is additionally charged with possession of marijuana.

Ruble also is facing a neglect of an unborn child charge, and Steven Dalton is facing an additional charge of maintaining a common nuisance.
