Softhed2:KIST: A tribute to KISS coming to Rushville
The next performance of the 2013 Rushville summer concert series will be with the #1 tribute band in the nation, KIST: A tribute to KISS with opening support from Zeke and the Geeks and Jacobi Road. The free event is 7 p.m., Friday, July 19, at the Riverside Park Amphitheater in Rushville, 100 W. Water St.
KIST formed in July 2000 when founding members set out to launch a band worthy of the moniker “A Tribute To KISS.” After years of diligence and a nationwide talent search, KIST has attained its vision by delivering shows that keep fans asking for more. Basing performances on the unrivaled Kiss shows of the 1970s, KIST performs in iconic Alive II costumes with a set list featuring make-up era hits “Rock and Roll All Nite,” “Detroit Rock City,” “Calling Dr. Love” and many more. The band prides itself on members that physically fit the part, which ensures that a KIST show brings all the fire, magic and spirit one would expect at a KISS show.
Rush County’s own Zeke and the Geeks, a rock and roll group, will be performing with their original and versatile musical style. Their influences range from the funk-rock styles of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dave Matthews Band and Phish to the blues-rock styles of Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton and Joe Walsh, and even some rock and roll the likes of Tom Petty, The Black Crowes and Oasis. By fusing all of these influences with their own style, Zeke and the Geeks are truly a diverse group.
From southern rock to hard rock, Indianapolis-based Jacobi Road brings energetic music to the stage. They are currently playing shows throughout Indiana after the release of a self-titled EP featuring the single “Good Time” late last year.
Riverside Park Amphitheater is an outdoor music venue at 100 W. Water St. in Rushville, Ind. The venue is quickly becoming a great concert destination, annually hosting live music events and creating a great family-friendly environment.
