The Rush County Board of Health will hold the January board meeting at 7 p.m. today in the health office of the courthouse.

New hours at BMV

Don Snemis, Commissioner of the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV), announced that the Connersville and Rushville license branches will have new hours of operation effective Feb. 3, 2014.

The Connersville license branch will be open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Rushville license branch will be open on Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Customers may also conduct business with the BMV without visiting a license branch by visiting myBMV.com website. Some transactions can also be completed by phone through the BMV Customer Contact Center at 888-692-6841.

Lincoln birthday celebration

The Rush County Historical and Genealogical Society jointly will host a Lincoln birthday celebration beginning at 7 p.m., Feb. 12 at the 201 Building. The event is free and open to the public and a Lincoln impersonator will present a program.

FRIDAY (1/31)

RCHS band booster tenderloin dinner will be from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Friday in the RCHS cafeteria. The meal includes a 7 oz. tenderloin sandwich, choice of cole slaw or applesauce, choice of macaroni and cheese or scalloped potatoes, dessert and drink. Carry-out available. Tickets are $6 available from any band student or $7 at the door.
