LEWISVILLE - State Representative Tom Saunders announced that he will be a candidate for re-election in House District 54 in the November, 2014, election. The district includes Henry County and parts of Wayne and Rush counties in east central Indiana.
Saunders issued the following statement in announcing his bid for re-election.
“It has been a privilege to serve the citizens of this district as your state representative. While I am glad the state is growing our economy, more work must be done to bring jobs to smaller cities and towns. That is one of the main tasks ahead of us. “
“I have always believed that my first loyalty should be to the people of my district and my state. I believe that more independent thinking and more willingness to listen to multiple sides of an issue will lead to better results for the state.”
“One of the most satisfying things about being a state representative is the chance to help people solve problems with government. It has been my honor to work with many fine people - those who have had problems and those who have helped solve the problems. I believe I can be of service again in the next session of the General Assembly.”
Saunders is a lifelong resident of Lewisville. He and his wife, Sue, have two sons, Andy and Patrick (wife Danielle) and one grandchild Chloe.
