Rush County Clerk Debbie Richardson reminds Rush County residents that absentee voting begins Tuesday, Oct. 9.
There are three ways you may vote by absentee ballot.
You may vote in the clerk’s office on the second floor of the Rush County Courthouse.
Hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The office will also be open from 8 a.m. till noon the two Saturdays prior to Election Day.
When voting in this manner, you are required to show your state-issued photo ID.
You may also vote by mail. When you use this method, you need to contact the clerk’s office to ask for an absentee application. When the application is returned to the office, you will be mailed a ballot, which you will then vote and return to the office no later than noon Nov. 6.
If you need assistance to cast your ballot, you may request a ballot by travel board. This again will require you to contact the clerk’s office to schedule a time for the travel board.
Absentee voting ends at noon Nov. 5.
The deadline to register to vote in the clerk’s office for the election is 4 p.m. Oct. 9.
You may register to vote online at www.indianavoters.com. This deadline is midnight Oct. 9.
If you have any questions or need an absentee application contact the Clerk’s office at 932-2086.
