RUSHVILLE — Horticulture students at Rushville Consolidated High School have been busy getting ready for their annual flower and plant sale.

The three-day event will be held Thursday, Friday and Saturday in the greenhouse located behind the Ag building, 1501 North Sexton Street, Rushville.

The event will offer a variety of potted and hanging plants, 4-inch pots and flats for purchase.

This year, a variety of tomatoes, along with peppers and broccoli, also will be made available.

The greenhouse is a self-sufficient facility at the high school and supports itself through monies raised during the annual flower and plant sale.

RCHS Ag program supervisor and teacher Blair Orme said that this year there will be nearly 30 different varieties of flowers, spices and vegetables from which to choose.

“Although we will have many of the traditional plants people are use to in the past, this year we also will have a number of new and different items to choose from,” Orme said.

The sale is open to the public with sale hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday and from  8 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Bulk mulch in one square yard increments is also available for purchase this year as well.

Additional information can be obtained by contacting Orme at (765) 932-5313.
