The Rush County Chamber of Commerce wants to know who you think is worthy of being named Citizen of the Year and is encouraging the public to nominate someone for the honor.
Chamber director Sandy Fussner said nominees should have made a noteworthy contribution to the Rush County community during the previous year and/or given outstanding service over a number of years.
“This would include demonstrating leadership resulting in enhancement of community life, bringing about positive changes, adding value to the community and inspiring qualities as a role model,” she said.
To nominate someone, submit a narrative (not to exceed 200 words) and biographical information about the nominee. Nominations often include letters of support from industry and community leaders; such letters are helpful, but not required.
The deadline for nominations is March 20, 2013.
Nomination forms and related materials can be mailed, e-mailed (email@example.com), faxed (765-932-5610) or dropped by the Chamber office at 315 N. Main Street, Rushville.
“The Citizen of the Year award is the Chamber’s highest civic recognition presented to an individual,” Fussner said. “Please help in getting the word out to others at your business. Who knows, they may be thinking of nominating you!”
Also, mark your calendars for the Chamber’s annual dinner on March 25 so you can be there when the Citizen of the Year will be announced.
