Sandy Fussner, executive director of the Rush County Chamber of Commerce and Carolyn Bunzendahl, acting director of the local ECDC met recently with Lieutenant Governor Sue Ellspermann to discuss the important issues facing East Central Indiana. “It was a great experience and reflective, I think, of the more expansive role the Chamber has taken in the last two years in terms of supporting local business development. There was a real opportunity to discuss the issues of concern to our Chamber partners and to focus on East Central Indiana in general,” Fussner said.
“What’s particularly noteworthy has been the emerging role of the Chamber as the voice for the local business community. Carolyn and I both recognize the companion roles with both sharing in promoting existing businesses and in helping grow this community and this country,” Fussner added. It was a chance to really develop a working relationship with the Lt. Governor which will be important, “as the community works to move forward,” she added.
Representatives from other town and counties were also present for the roundtable discussion.
