RUSHVILLE — Rush County United Santa Helpers, formerly known as Rush County Bikers Toys for Tots, will host a fundraiser ride Saturday, May 11.

As was previously reported in the Rushville Republican, after nearly 20 years the primary organizers of the Rush County Bikers Toys for Tots effort decided to step down earlier this year, leaving the future of the organization in doubt; however, the American Legion Riders and the Rushville Eagle Riders have since stepped forward and agreed to take over, changing the name to R.U.S.H. (Rush County United Santa Helpers).

They’ve taken on a pretty big project. Last year, the organization helped provide Christmas presents to 171 Rush County children who might otherwise have gone without.

The May 11 ride will begin with sign-up at the Rushville American Legion between 11 a.m. and noon.

The cost is $10 per motorcycle and $5 for each additional rider.

The ride will conclude at the Rushville Eagles lodge, where dinner will be served starting at 4 p.m. Those involved in the ride eat free; the cost is $5 per person for non-participants.

There will also be music and an auction.

If you would like to donate to the kids of Rush County call the American Legion at 765-932-3415 or the Rushville Eagles at 765-932-2476.
