Dig Into Reading at the local library

Rushville Republican

RUSHVILLE — Grab everyone in your household and everyone in the neighborhood and come on down to the Rushville Public Library to sign up for our summer reading program “Dig Into Reading.”

The excitement began May 13 and will continue into July!

“Dig Into Reading” has something for all ages from infants to grandmas and grandpas.

The reading starts when you come in and sign up and the summer special events start on May 29 as we plant the seeds for a successful summer. You can pick up a schedule of events when you sign up.

Your goal is to read for at least 600 minutes (10 hours) from now until July 6 (less minutes for infants and preschoolers). Along the way, kids and teens earn fun reading incentives. Adults are heartily congratulated. But at the end of the summer program, everyone who completes is invited to extra-special events. For kids (and their families) it is ventriloquist Mark Wade and his puppet friend. For teens it’s a pizza party with games. And for adults we will have a dinner and fun.

We also have a pool party planned for summer reading families in mid-July.

For more details, stop by the front desk at the library and pick up a flier or call 765-932-3496. Or, better yet, sign up for “Dig Into Reading” and start digging into books.

No one is too young or too old to enjoy the library’s summer reading program!
