Making the most of your food dollar program

RUSHVILLE — Few people will list grocery shopping as their favorite activity. It takes time and money that we would rather spend elsewhere. Purdue Extension educator Gracie Marlatt will present “Frugal Living:  Making the Most of Your Food Dollar” on Monday, Nov. 5. This program will explore how we spend our food dollar and how we can make it go further.

Marlatt will present this essential program at Noon in the Rush County Courthouse Assembly Room and at 7 p.m. in the Rush County Fair Office, 1299 N Sexton St. Both sessions are free and open to the public. Included will be a discussion of how food prices are determined and ways that consumers can save. How much should your household spend on food? Do you know the four rules of food shopping?

For more information about this presentation and other programs through Purdue Extension in Rush County call 932-5974 or contact Marlatt at gnmarlat@purdue.edu. Purdue University is an equal opportunity/equal access/affirmative action university. If you have special needs, please call Purdue CES – Rush County by Friday, Nov. 2.
