The goal for the 2014 Rush County Relay for Life event was announced earlier this year by local organizers as $50,000. This year will mark the 13th year Rush County residents will participate in the American Cancer Society fund raising event.
“Donnies Lil Angels” team members will again host a fundraising event May 24 at the Admiral Gas Station, 104 South Mai Street with their “Full Service Day.”
The six-hour event will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until 4 p.m. Team members will turn back the clock to a time when filling station attendants pumped gas and washed windshields.
“We will pump your gas, wash your windshields and serve you food for donations to the Rush County Relay for Life,” Tim Frazier said.
During the event, gas prices will be rolled back and music will also be provided.
For a number of years, Frazier and other family members have hosted the Relay fundraising event and are looking forward to it again this year.
This year, the Relay for Live 24-hour event will be held in June in South Veterans Memorial Park and team themed sites will host events to generate funding for cancer research. This year’s theme is “One Wish, Two Wish, You Wish, I Wish…For a Cure.”
Team ACC will host a breakfast Saturday, at the Posy Township Fire Department from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday, a free will offering will be accepted.
