Timothy Wayne Sowder, 53

Timothy Wayne Sowder, 53, of Rushville, passed away Monday, July 15, 2013 in Indianapolis.

He was born Nov. 7, 1959 in Indianapolis to Bill and Wanda (Shelton) Sowder. Tim was a 1978 graduate of Rushville Consolidated High School and received his Bachelors’ degree in Elementary Ed from Ball State University in 1982. Tim taught elementary education in Rushville at St. Mary’s and Mays School and also in Northern Indiana at Howe Military Academy. He had worked the last 20 years as a computer software consultant with Courtland Consulting. He had lived in Arkansas, Tennessee, New Jersey, North Carolina, Indianapolis and most recently, Newark, Del., relocating often for the consulting firm he represented. Tim was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Rushville. He was passionate about his family, children and animals.

He is survived by his mother, Wanda Sowder, of Rushville; brothers, Ron and Nancy Sowder of Tipp City, Ohio, Bob and Robin Sowder of Rushville, Mike Sowder of Greenfield, Terry and Tami Sowder of Richwood, Ohio and Brian Sowder of Rushville; sisters, Karen and Mike Spaeth of Rushville, Karla and David Kuhn of Rushville and Kathy and Kirk Shuppert of Greenfield; and several nieces and nephews.

Tim was preceded in death by his father and a niece, Holli Spaeth.

A Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Rushville. Friends are welcome to visit at the church from 11a.m. until time of service Saturday. Rev. Jan Dimick will preside.

Memorial contributions may be made to Rush County Community Assistance (RCCA).
