Amphitheater Community Day is Saturday

RUSHVILLE — The Rushville Riverside Park Amphitheater Committee begins the 2012 Summer Concert Series Saturday with the 5th Annual Community Day from noon to 5 p.m. There will be activities and events for everyone.

The schedule for the day is:

Noon to 2 p.m.: Free lunch (hot dogs, baked beans, cole slaw and chips)

Noon to 5 p.m.: Bake sale

Noon to 3 p.m.: Kids games and Animal Shelter Pet Corral

Noon to 4 p.m.: Silent auction

1 to 4 p.m.: Bloodmobile

2 to 3 p.m.: Cake Walk

3 to 5 p.m.: Music by Joe Rigney

Bring the family out for a great day of fun!

The Amphitheater Committee is also sponsoring a contest to name the new gravel road at Riverside Park along with the entrance and exit roads of the park.

The three winners will be revealed at Community Day.

Submit your names to Carla Sharpe at City Hall via e-mail at or by calling 765-932-3735.

You can also visit their Facebook page (Rushville's Riverside Park Amphitheater Concert Series) to post your street name submission.

You may enter as many times as you like.

The deadline for all submissions is today (May 18).

June 9: ZOSO (Led Zeppelin Tribute) with Carson Diersing

June 23: Indianapolis Colts Fan Fest 2012 featuring Free Fallin (Tom Petty Tribute) and Zeke and the Geeks

July 14: Off the Wagon with Cee Cee James

July 21: John Waite with Monofiction

Aug. 4: Young Dubliners with Amish Open Mic Band

Aug. 25: An Innocent Band (Billy Joel Tribute) with Rob Dixon & Triology (An Indy Jazz Fest affiliated event)
