There has been a water main break at Fifth and Arthur Streets, Rushville.
As a result, this intersection will be closed all weekend.
City Utilities manager Les Day said a “T” needs to be replaced.
“There’s a ‘T’ in there that went bad and it’s packed in lead. Anytime we come across lead we’re required to replace it,” Day said. “There’s also not a shut-off valve close so we have to shut down a section of the main.”
Day said about 60 people are affected.
Anytime a water main line is closed a boil advisory is issued for those customers affected. Day said they are being notified via door hangers.
Repairs are expected to be completed by midday Monday.
