RUSHVILLE — Changing Footprints has made a difference in the lives of children since its inception in 2005.

Changing Footprints ( is a not-for-profit organization that collects, processes, and distributes new and gently used shoes to the needy in Indiana and around the world.

Based in Rushville, the charitable organization was the brainchild of Maureen Leisure after the Rush County resident saw a television show highlighting children half a world away who were becoming ill because they did not have adequate footwear.

During the first four years of operation, nearly 40,000 pairs of shoes were collected and distributed.

The collection and distribution center is located at 310 East Third Street. In recent months volunteers have added drywall and made other improvements at the location.

To continue improvements at the warehouse a Trivia Night fundraising event is rapidly approaching.

The event will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 at the 201 Building in downtown Rushville. Brian Sheehan will serve as emcee.

Eight member teams will participate in 10 categories with 10 questions in each category.

Participants must be at least 21 years of age and the entry fee is $20 per person. Prior to the event, teams can purchase a mulligan for an additional $10.

Door prizes will be awarded and as well as a grand prize in a reverse raffle.

For additional information on participating or to make a donation to Changing Footprints contact Leisure at (765) 932-4762 or via email at
