Farmers’ Market offers sights, sounds and homemade scents

RUSHVILLE — The Heart of Rushville Farmers’ & Artisans’ Market hosted special events Saturday.

Jazz Combo #1 from Rushville Consolidated High School entertained crowds at the downtown venue with music for part of the morning. Mr. Burgeson, music teacher at the high school as well as the middle school, enthusiastically agreed to bring the Jazz Combo down to the market for the “Second Saturday” in June. They plan to make a return visit later this summer.

Also at the Market Saturday, the Boys & Girls Club of Rush County provided sidewalk chalk and encourage area youth to come out and do sidewalk art.

Add the Heart of Rushville Farmers’ & Artisans’ Market to your Saturday morning activities list to find local treasures and greet friends and neighbors.

Things you can find at the local market include fresh produce (in season), plants, local honey, homemade jams and jellies, baked goods, handmade soaps, handcrafted jewelry, and many other locally handcrafted goods.

The Market continues each Saturday, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at Third and Main streets, Rushville.
