2012-2013 I-STAR Awards announced

RUSHVILLE — Rushville Consolidated High School is proud to announce the recipients of the prestigious 2012-2013 I-STAR Awards. The Indiana Student Teacher Achievement Recognition program is a cooperative effort among Centerville, Connersville, Franklin County, Hagerstown, Lincoln, Rushville, Tri, and Union County High Schools. This award is open to the top 10 percent of the seniors in each high school. Three seniors are selected from each school based on their application. The focal component of the application is the selection of an educator who the student believes has made the strongest contribution to their individual and scholastic development. The student-applicant must submit a written explanation of why the educator was selected for this honor.

The RCHS students earning I-STAR awards this year include: James Brashaber, Michaela Colestock and Kyle Hoeing. James Brashaber is the son of Phil and Karen Brashaber. James chose high school English teacher Mr. Jim Helsley. Michaela Colestock is the daughter of Max and Jenny Colestock. Michaela’s selection was high school nurse and basketball coach Mrs. Melissa Marlow. Kyle Hoeing is the son of Gary and Rose Hoeing. Kyle selected high school business/technology teacher Mrs. Diane Personett. These individuals were honored with a dinner and recognition program on Thursday, March 7, at Tri High School.
