• National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) Association, Indiana Chapter 0813, has a monthly meeting at 10 a.m. on the third Tuesday of each month at the Ponderosa Steakhouse, corner of North Lincoln St. and Fourth St., Greensburg. Optional lunch afterward. We have guest speakers on a variety of topics, interesting programs, and items discussed. Come meet your current and retired Federal Employee comrades. • Big Flatrock Christian Church invites everyone to the Easter services. Maundy Thursday service will be at 6 p.m. April 17 with a dinner following. Easter Sunrise Service will be at 7 a.m. April 20 with a pitch-in breakfast immediately following - coffee, juice and milk provided. SATURDAY (4/19)

• The First Church of God,1200 W. US Hwy 52, Rushville, will host an Easter Egg Hunt at 1 p.m. for children up to 11years old.

• Faith Community Church will host an Easter Egg Hunt for children ages 1-12 from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, April 19, at the Manilla Lions Club. Prize awarded in four age groups. Enjoy crafts, story time and refreshments. For more information, contact Lisa Ward at 765-561-4069.

• Kyle Henderson day at Stagg’s Restaurant and Dairy Treats will be Saturday, April 19, 2014. A portion of the sales from that day will be contributed to the Kyle Henderson Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Rush County Community Foundation. This scholarship is awarded to students attending post-secondary school, accredited trade or vocational school and have been involved in 4-H and/or FFA. Please join Kyle’s family and friends and have a great meal or dairy treat.

• The Rushville Eagles #2036 Ladies Auxiliary will be having nominations for officers at 7 p.m. on April 21. Members please come and show your support.

WEDNESDAY (4/23)

•The Manilla Town & Country Homemakers Club will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 23 at the home of Nancy Kuhn. Norene Wright is the co-hostess and she will give devotions. Evonne Kuhn will present a lesson on “Fraudulent Top Ten.” Roll Call: Have you ever been scammed?

THURSDAY (4/24)

• The CASA organization will have “Comedy for CASA Night” Thursday, April 24 from 6:30-8:30 p.m at the Occasions Banquet Hall in Shelbyville, IN; 415 E. Hendricks St. Featured comedians will be Jeff Bodart, Matt Holt and host will be radio legend Don Stuck. Tickets will be $20.

FRIDAY (4/25)

• At 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 25, Dr. Janette Fishell will present an IU Faculty Organ Recital at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 6045 E. State Street, Columbus. Everyone is cordially invited, admission is free. Dr. Fishell is Professor of Music and Chair of the Organ Department at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, and is a teacher/recitalist of international standing.

• Calling all Greasers: the current RCHS drama department is hoping “Grease” cast members from the 1982 and 1998 stage productions will attend a performance of the 2014 presentation of “Grease.” A special reunion show will be staged at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 25, and we’re asking former cast members to join us on stage for a rousing revival of “We Go Together.” Former cast members will get VIP treatment on Friday night, starting with a reunion check-in table located in the lobby to pick up name tags. The current cast is gearing up to make Friday night’s show something truly special, and they hope former RCHS grads will join in the fun. Can’t attend Friday night? There will be four shows total - at 7:30 p.m on April 24, 25, 26 and at 2 p.m. April 27. Reserved seating tickets are $7 and on sale now by calling RCHS at (765) 932-3901.

SATURDAY (4/26)

• Knights of Columbus will host an all you can eat chicken dinner open to the public from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 26 at 227 E. 3rd Street. Cost will be $10 for adults and $6 for children. An additional $1 will be charged for a meal with all white meat. All you can eat meals are restricted to dine-in only. Carry out will be available. • The April get-together of the Carthage school friends will be from noon to 3 p.m. April 26 at the Greenfield Ponderosa. Bring old pictures and other memorabilia to share. Please let Hester Shelby know if you can attend at 317-513-2438.

• Rushville Eagle’s Breakfast will be from 7 to 11 a.m., Saturday, April 26. It is open to the public (come to back door entrance) and free will donations will be accepted. They will serve sausage gravy and biscuits, eggs, hash browns, juice, milk and coffee. For free town deliveries, call 765-309-5435.

• The Rush County Chorale will be presenting the spring concert at the First Presbyterian Church. Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. on April 26 and 2:30 p.m. on April 27.

• The community food pantry, 109 East Third Street, Rushville is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday. Bring photo ID. Donations welcomed.

• In cooperation with the Rush County Food Pantry (RCCA), the Gleaners Mobile Food Bank will be bringing a truck load of food to the Main Street Christian Church parking lot, 615 N. Main St., Rushville, on the first Monday of each month for distribution to local residents.

The distribution will be made between 4 and 6 p.m. Residents will need to bring their own containers (sacks or boxes) to put their food into.

• Alcoholics Anonymous meets each Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the Hoosier Gym in Knightstown. Use the east entrance at the corner of Adams and Locust streets. Information: 765-313-1637.
