RICHMOND — Spring high school graduates looking for a fast start on a college degree can complete their Business Administration degree in one year at Ivy Tech Community College Richmond. The deadline to apply for Ivy Tech Richmond’s new one year Associate of Science degree in Business Administration is June 6. Classes begin June 9.
The program called the Associate Accelerated Program (known as ASAP) enables a student to complete the two year associates degree program in one year. The degree is an excellent foundation for entering the workforce, as well as transferring into Indiana University East’s Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
With the ASAP program, a student will complete the associate degree in 12 months instead of the traditional two year track thus saving education costs. This should enable the majority of ASAP students to be placed at the junior level of admission to other universities including Purdue and Ball State.
ASAP serves high school graduates who are prepared to enter college academically, have a good attendance record and are highly motivated to complete college. Students attend school full-time, almost 40 hours a week, in a learning group called a cohort. Students in the learning group form a close community and provide peer support for each other during their year-long program.
