Burglary suspects arrested

RUSHVILLE — Three Cincinnati, Ohio residents - Angella J. Dusa, 45, Derek P. Nuckols, 24, and Matthew N. Carger, 27 -  recently were apprehended in Franklin County on multiple charges related to a rash of burglaries covering four counties and two states.

According to Sgt. Jason Lovins of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, an ongoing investigation is underway to determine if the trio is linked to other burglaries in Franklin and Dearborn Counties in Indiana and Butler and Hamilton Counties in Ohio.

Saturday, shortly before 2 p.m., an anonymous tip regarding a suspicious vehicle on Drewersburg Road in Franklin County was received at the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department. The description of the vehicle matched that of a vehicle used in several other burglaries.

When offices arrived, it was determined that Carger, Dusa and Nuckols were “preparing to burglarize” a residence near the intersection of Drewersburg Road and Carolina Trace in Franklin County.

The suspects were taken into custody without incident.

Carger is charged with conspiracy to commit burglary (class “B” felony); he was also wanted on an outstanding Franklin County warrant for burglary.

Dusa is charged with conspiracy to commit burglary (class “B” felony), possession of stolen property (class “D” felony) and operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (class “C” misdemeanor).

Nuckols is facing a single count of conspiracy to commit burglary (class “B” felony).

A class “B” felony conviction can lead to a $10,000 fine and up to a 20 year jail sentence.
