---- — Mayor Mike Pavey recently proclaimed the month of October, Rush County United Fund Month.
WHEREAS, we realize the human needs that must be met to maintain the dignity of all people, and recognize that it is the responsibility of our more fortunate citizens to help provide the services to meet these needs; and
WHEREAS, a wholesome community, attractive to residents, business and industry, is only possible when the valued elements of charity and public service are maintained; and
WHEREAS, private agencies served by dedicated volunteers can meet the needs of people in a way that government cannot serve; and
WHEREAS, the United Fund provides the services of 8 agencies composed of the following 2013 Rush County United Fund Agency Projects: Changing Footprints, Inc., Mental Health America, Senior Citizens Center, Salvation Army, Community Food Pantry, Boys and Girls Club, Big Brothers Big Sisters and Rush County Victim’s Assistance.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Michael P. Pavey, do hereby proclaim the month of October to be UNITED FUND MONTH in our community, and further urge all citizens to join in supporting the United Fund in this community, and in helping to reach the full quota required for adequate maintenance of the various agencies and services established to aid the less fortunate of our area.
