Henderson is new RCCF director

Rush County Community Foundation Board of Directors President David Burkhardt has announced that Alisa Henderson has been selected to replace Garry Cooley as the executive director of the RCCF.

Cooley, who announced his retirement earlier this year effective at the end of the year, has been executive director of the Foundation for the last eight years.

“I want to thank everyone associated with the Foundation who I have had the pleasure of working with over the last eight years,” Cooley said. “Working with our founding contributors, donors, current and past board members and especially Terry VanNatta has made the last eight years some of the most enjoyable years of my life. I look forward to working with Alisa to make this transition as smooth as possible.”

“We want to thank Garry for his years of service to the Foundation and our community,” Burkhardt said. “His being with the Foundation for the last eight years has given stability to the position. We are very excited with the hiring of Alisa as our new executive director. She brings a great enthusiasm for the work of the Foundation with her to her new position.”

“I am very excited for the opportunity to work with everyone associated with the Foundation in continuing to grow the Foundation,” Henderson, who will begin her duties Nov. 1, said. “I am looking forward to working with Garry to make sure there is a smooth transition and am looking forward to meeting all of the founding contributors and volunteers who make the Foundation such a viable organization in our community.”

Henderson is a Rush County resident and a 2003 graduate of Rushville Consolidated High School. She is a 2007 graduate of Purdue University with a B.S. in Sales and Marketing Management. She is currently working on her Master’s Degree in Public Health with a concentration on Health Policy and Management.
