---- — An undercover drug investigation culminated shortly after 7 p.m. Sept. 18 when officers stopped a vehicle on SR 44 near CR 975W, near Manilla.

Inside the vehicle officers found cocaine, marijuana and a hidden firearm, according to Rush County deputy sheriff and narcotics officer Doug Keith.

Taken into custody were Demetrius Buntin, 22, and Jerric Matthew, 24, both of Indianapolis. The pair was charged with dealing cocaine, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and illegal possession of a firearm.

Keith said it was determined the gun found in the vehicle had been reported stolen and Matthew was wanted in Marion County in connection with a murder investigation.

Buntin and Matthew are currently being held in the Rush County Jail. A bond of $100,000 was set for Buntin while Matthew is being held without bond.

“Drug use will not be tolerated in Rush County. Unfortunately, we know there are drugs out there and people choosing that type of life. Let the notice be served, we will find you and when we do you will be arrested,” Keith said.
