Don and Regina Jarman of Milroy found the Rushville Republican’s Christmas Cash ornament Tuesday afternoon near New Salem.
The gold-ribboned box was strapped to a curve sign on SR 300S, between 450E and 650E, at the jog/curve in the road.
Don Jarman grew up in the area, so as the clues narrowed the search down he had a good idea of where to look.
With a smile and a wink, Don said the road where the Christmas Cash contest ornament was found was known as “Lover’s Lane” in the ‘60s because it’s a secluded road without homes.
“I knew within 200 feet where it was at,” Don said, so he and his wife went out to search Tuesday.
Just five minutes after they found the ornament, they ran into another Christmas Cash searcher who was just moments too late following the clues.
