WEDNESDAY (1/08)

• Columbus Star Quilters’ Guild January meeting will be held Jan. 8, 2014 at the Masonic Lodge at 4131 Rocky Ford Road, the corner of Taylor and Rocky Ford Roads. All interested persons are welcome to attend. Member Jamie Schantz will hold a trunk show to display many of her quilts including the Viewers’ Quilt Award 2012 Quilt. Her quilts contain unique combinations of color and applique.

The doors open at 8:45 a.m. and the meeting starts at 9:30 a.m. Please bring a Show-and-Tell to share at the meeting. There is no charge to attend.

• Ivy Tech Richmond is adding Express Registration Days for prospective and continuing students. Dates and times in addition to 9 to noon Saturday, Jan. 11, are 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, and 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9. Express Registration includes all necessary steps for prospective and continuing students to start classes Jan. 13. New students who wish to complete their assessment test should arrive by the event’s start time. Express Registration is in Johnson Hall on the Richmond campus, 2357 Chester Blvd. (I-70 & US 27). THURSDAY (1/9)

• The Rush County 4-H Family Fun Fest will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Root Building on the Rush County Fairgrounds. There will be activities and displays for youth in grades Kindergarten through grade 12. Feel free to stop by and pick up an enrollment form, or check out a project that you’ve always wondered about. Feel free to share the information with your friends who would like to know more about 4-H. Anyone in grades 3 through 12 can join, and there will also be Cloverbud activities for Kindergarten, first, and second graders. (In case of inclement weather, the 4-H Family Fun Fest will be held Jan. 16).
