Rush County man arrested second time for meth

RUSH COUNTY – Members of the Pendleton District Meth Suppression Squad along with Pendleton Troopers, Deputies from the Rush County Sheriff’s Department and a Rushville City Officer went to a home at 1521 E. CR 1000 N. around 5:30 p.m. Thursday to serve a felony warrant out of Henry County for theft on Chad Dishman, 41.

Dishman attempted to flee into a wooded area behind the home, but was caught by deputies. At Dishman’s home, Meth Suppression Troopers located articles used in the manufacture of Methamphetamine.

Dishman is being held in the Rush County Jail on charges of Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Class “B” Felony; Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Precursors and Maintaining a Common Nuisance, all three class “D” Felonies. In addition to the Henry County “D” Felony Warrant for Theft, Dishman was also charged with Resisting Law Enforcement and Possession of Marijuana under 30 grams, both Class “A” Misdemeanors. Bond was set at $60,000.

This is the second time Dishman has been arrested by the Pendleton District Meth Suppression Squad for manufacturing Methamphetamine at his home. In May of 2013, members of the Meth Suppression Squad arrested Dishman as part of an ongoing investigation. During that arrest Dishman was caught after he attempted to flee his home by running into the same wooded area.

Dishman’s case on those charges is still pending.

Often times meth labs are found as the result of an anonymous tip.

Anyone with information about illegal drug use may call the Pendleton Post at 1-800-527-4752, or the Indiana State Police Drug Tip Line at 1-800-453-4756. Tips can be made and kept anonymous.

The Indiana Meth Investigation System or IMIS, can also take tips on meth labs. Just go to www.meth.in.gov and click on the “Report Suspected Meth Activity” Link. Also available on the meth site is information regarding meth statistics, meth lab cleanup, educational videos and materials about meth manufacturing and addiction.
