Bracing white-out conditions the City Council managed to meet again despite the unpredictable Indiana weather we all too often encounter.
Mayor Pavey discussed the State of the City address which he gave earlier in the day this past Tuesday. Pavey also stated that the committee has been coordinating their efforts on the comprehensive plan. Also discussed was restructuring the police department, ARa tax certification, Blight & Slum removal programs and the upcoming concert series that was recently announced.
Pavey also discussed his tour at the transfer station in Connersville.
Reports were put together on the water main break that occurred on Jan. 29.
“We are putting together a check list of things that need to be done; we are looking into a better solution for notifications of the residents,” Mayor Pavey stated.
The St. Patrick’s Day celebration will be March 15.
The Mayor’s 5K is scheduled for May 10 with all proceeds going to an anti-bullying program.
Pavey said the ADA plan was sent to the local ARC Organization and the school for review. ARC said it looked good. Anna Jo Richards, from the school, presented a list of questions. After receiving a positive reply Richards was then pleased with the plan. The Board of Works approved the plan with the changes.
Chief Tucker reported that the Board of Works hired Donald Cochran and Robert Banker to fill the positions of patrolmen pending Perf approval. They also approved the Agreement for Training & Uniform Reimbursement, the Contract for Special Officer for Detective, the Job Description for Quarter Master and Modification to General Order 63 on take home vehicles.
