Rush United Santa Helpers taking applications

R.U.S.H. (Rush United Santa Helpers, formerly Rush County Bikers Toys for Tots) is currently planning events to raise money to buy Christmas for those less fortunate persons and families residing in Rush County.

The Fraziers retired from Toys for Tots after 21 years of putting smiles on children’s faces. The American Legion Riders and Eagle Riders have formed a committee that has taken over this organization and renamed it “R.U.S.H.”

Applications are being accepted at this time for families in need.

Applications may be picked up at ICAP Head Start, the Rush County Health Department, the Department of Family Resource, the local Food Pantry and Community Action (ICAP) at the Booker T. Community Center. Applications must be completely filled out and income guidelines will be followed.

Applications must be mailed to R.U.S.H., P.O. Box 454, Rushville, IN 46173 no later than Dec. 1, 2013.

If you would like to make a monetary donation you may do so by calling Linda Wildey at 765-561-4015 or Carla Sharpe at 765-561-5080. Checks can be made out to R.U.S.H. and mailed to R.U.S.H., P.O. Box 4541, Rushville, IN 46173.

Donations of new toys will also be accepted and greatly appreciated.

Many families are struggling due to job loss, health issues and a slow economy. These are just a few of the reasons why it’s so important to support this worthy cause.
