Indiana Department of Transportation maintenance crews from the Cambridge City Subdistrict plan to chip seal U.S. Highway 40 between Dublin and Dunreith this week.
INDOT anticipates that work will begin Wednesday morning, weather permitting, on the north side of U.S. 40 at Dublin. The second north-side lane will be chip sealed in the reverse direction starting at Dunreith on Thursday morning. Operations then move to both south-side lanes.
Once chip seal applications have been placed, crews will fog seal all four lanes, a total of 44 lane miles.
One lane will remain open to traffic at all times.
INDOT cautions motorists traveling through areas where liquid asphalt and loose stone have recently been applied to drive with extra care and reduced speeds.
