Rushville Public Library offering free programs
After school programs, Toddler Time, Preschool Story Time start in September

The school year has started and Rushville Public Library is ready to start several special activities for local children and youths.

After school programs for children in kindergarten through sixth grade are planned under the direction of Pam Vogel with Jan Garrison assisting.

The library will have a free program for children in kindergarten through third grade from 4 to 5 p.m. Sept. 3. Come to the meeting room at the library for fun, games and refreshments.

A similar program is offered for children in grades four through six from 4 to 5 p.m. Sept. 10.

Jan Garrison is now the YA/Adult Services Coordinator at the local library. She will be assisted with the YA (Young Adult) program by Pam Vogel.

The library will have a free program for anyone in grades seven through 12 from 4 to 5 p.m. Sept. 17 in the meeting room at the library. Fun, games and refreshments are on the agenda.

The ever-popular Miss Jan’s Toddler Time and Miss Pam’s Preschool Storytime are returning for another season starting Sept. 9 and 11.

Toddler Time is for boys and girls under three and one-half years old accompanied by a parent or grandparent. According to Miss Jan, you have your choice of times: 10 a.m. or 11 a.m. Tuesday, 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. Thursday.

“Come enjoy stories, songs, fingerplays, treats,” she said.

Preschool Storytime is for boys and girls ages three and one-half years to five years old who can be independent from a parent or grandparent.

You have your choice of times, Miss Pam noted: 10 a.m. Tuesday, 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. Thursday.

“We’ll have stories, games, crafts, special visitors,” she added.
