Through the efforts of former Rush County resident Craig Moore his wife Misty and others, 2-year-old Blaine Raider will have the opportunity to have his wish come true: a trip to Disney World.

Earlier this year, Raider (suffering from leukemia) underwent a bone marrow transplant at Riley Hospital for Children.

Saturday will mark the fifth year the Moores, originally from Milroy and currently living in Greenfield, will host a wiffle ball tournament for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

This year’s event will to assist Raider will be held in the presence of family, friends and invited guests with those converging on what has become affectionately known as Moore Field in Greenfield.

Following the noncompetitive sporting competition and a promotional event to generate additional funds there will be a live acoustic concert by Brian Vander Ark, lead singer for the musical group the Verve Pipe. The group received national acclaim for their 1996 No. 1 song “The Freshman and the song “Villains” from their album Villains. Also expected to perform will be Moore and his longtime friend Tom Baumgardner, known collectively as Revealed.

Due to space constraints, the list of guests is limited; however, Moore said that individuals in a position to do so can send donations to Craig and Misty Moore c/o Make-A-Wish Foundation, 2191 E. BoMar Lane-Greenfield, IN 46140.
