Man found dead after dive into S. Indiana quarry

Associated Press

OOLITIC, Ind. (AP) — Divers have found the body of a man who jumped 80 feet off a ledge into a southern Indiana quarry.

A state conservation officer says the body of 22-year-old Colin Cassell of Bloomington was found in 23 feet of water at the Indiana Limestone Quarry near Oolitic (Oo-LIH’-tik) in Lawrence County.

Witnesses say Cassell jumped from the ledge Thursday evening, struck the water with his abdomen and did not resurface. Two companions swam after him, then called authorities after they failed to find him in the water.
