(Editor’s note: This is the fifth in a five part series on the top 10 seniors at Rushville Consolidated High School.)

For Jessica Cole and Hillary Revalee future plans call for entering the medical profession. Jessica will be attending Indiana University in the fall to major in Biology with a pre-dentistry concentration. Hillary plans to attend college and become a radiology technologist, spend a year working with the Peace Corp, then raise her family in the Rush County area.

As they leave the halls of RCHS behind, both young women will take memories with them. For Hillary it was the choir trip to New York City, which she described as a learning experience. For Jessica the best part of high school was “building relationships with my friends and making countless memories with them that I will remember forever.”

Providing some of the memories were the various activities and organizations in which they participated. Jessica was involved in Top Ten, National Honor Society, Varsity Scholars, class secretary four years, Student Council, FFA secretary, Holcad editor, Cheerblock, SADD, Spanish Club, volleyball, swimming, 4-H vice president and secretary, Big Brothers Big Sisters, volunteer assistant coach Mays Elementary girls, certified lifeguard, National Junior Swine Association, Yorkshire Association.

Hillary’s memberships included Choir, Cheerblock, Spanish Club, Junior Class Advisory Board, I.C.E.

Classes will be remembered too as the young women further their education. For Hillary it was English.

“I love the literature I’ve read in my English classes,” she elated. “Reading has always been a passion of mine.”

For Jessica it was working with student publications.

“Holcad is my favorite class because I get to make something that everyone in the community looks at, and I have fun doing it,” she enthused.

The memories of their school years and activities will go with them as they journey away from their secondary education, but they left behind some advice for underclassmen.

“Stay focused on your senior year but have fun because you’ll never be able to return to these years,” Jessica counseled.

“Academics are important, but so are your friends. Work hard and play hard,” Hillary recommended.

Both scholars credit their families with aiding their academic success.

“My family, they have always been there for me. I owe everything to their love and support,” Hillary noted.

“My parents have supported me and encouraged me to get involved in school. They are my major attribute to my success,” Jessica acknowledged.
