Shortly after 10 a.m. Tuesday a truck and a truck with a snow plow attached to its front end collided west of Rushville city limits on U.S. 52.
“I was pulling out of a parking lot and turning west onto U.S. 52 when the blade of the snow plow struck the rear driver’s quarter panel of the truck,” Duane Carpenter, 41, of Rushville, said.
Carpenter was plowing snow in the 1000 block of West Third Street and was turning around when the blade of his snow plow struck a westbound GMC pickup truck driven by Barry Ward, 51, of Arlington.
The force of the impact damaged the rear wheel well of Ward’s vehicle but caused no visible damage to Carpenter’s vehicle.
According to ISP trooper Tom Schwendman, road conditions were less that optimum and snow was falling at the time of the accident.
He advised that neither driver sustained injuries and both were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the collision.
