Thanking Good Samaritan

Rushville Republican

RUSHVILLE — Dear Editor:

I want to thank the friendly citizens of Rushville who honked and waved at me on Monday, May 13, as I drove in my rental car from Dr. Wilson’s veterinary office to my mother’s house outside of town on East Adams.

Unfortunately, I didn’t realize that you were all trying to tell me my purse was on top of the car. I only discovered that after I arrived at my mother’s house.

Fortunately, we were able to retrace our steps and find my cell phone, in three pieces but still working, and other various items on the road just outside of town. What was really remarkable is that by the time I retrieved my phone and turned it on I had a voice message from the Rush County Sheriff’s office letting me know that my purse had been picked up by a citizen and dropped off at the Sheriff’s office. Billfold and other items that did not fall out on the road were all intact and safely retrieved.

Thanks again to the Good Samaritan citizen of Rushville who rescued my purse and thanks to the Sheriff’s office for keeping it safe for me.
