By the time you print this the election may well be over, but that doesn’t change my concern about how much money has been spent by those seeking office.
Between the two presidential candidates they spent more than $1 billion just to get elected.
The legislatures of each state should make it illegal to spend more than a given amount of money for each particular office, from national races on down. If the politicians collect more than they are allowed to spend those extra dollars could be given to food pantries and other charities to help the people in need right here at home.
I urge everyone to vote for the person, not for the party, and then to hold those people to their campaign promises and pledges. If they don’t do what they said they would the voters should put them out of office during the next election cycle.
I hope everyone agrees with me. We’ll see during the next election.
