Surprise!

Dear Editor:
The City of Rushville came under a boil water advisory today (Friday); I didn't find out about it until I stopped in at a local eatery for lunch. Yet the advisory was not a surprise to the city administration, since it was due to planned maintenance — not to mention the fact that the schools and local restaurants evidently were notified in advance.
Rushville City Utilities has all our names and addresses, and the latest bill just recently arrived, so it would have been no trouble at all for the city to inform its residents ahead of time at little expense. All that would have been required would be to use envelopes for the bill this one time, with a notice enclosed.
It's a pity the current administration doesn't show as much concern now for the health of its citizens as it did for the non-existent problems with the police department when they were all hot to get elected. Is this the level of neglect and (in)competence we can expect for the next 3-1/2 years?
