Consumers at Share’s recently viewed a 1956 Chevy 210 Station Wagon being raffled off by the Arc of Indiana. Raffle tickets are $10 each with the drawing to be held Nov. 6, 2013. The Arc of Rush County will receive half the proceeds of tickets sold by its members.
The Arc of Indiana is a statewide, non-profit organization advocating for people with mental challenges and related disabilities and their families. The organization was formed by parents in 1956; parents who were seeking a better life for their children. Together these parents worked to form a strong, statewide organization and active local Arcs like Arc of Rush County.
Thanks to the work of these pioneering parents, many dreams have been realized: The right to a public education for all children, including those with special needs, community program to teach life and job skills, community support for handicap accessibility, prevention and immunization program, early intervention programs for all infants and toddlers with disabilities or at risk of disability...no name a few.
