Community Gift Lift is underway

RUSHVILLE — With the approach of the holidays comes your chance to help local nursing home patients who might otherwise do without during the upcoming Christmas season.

Mental Health America in Rush County has placed its Gift Lift Christmas tree in the first floor hallway of the Rush County Courthouse, just outside the Rush County Purdue Cooperative Extension office.

On the tree are name tags and gift wishes from residents of Flatrock River Lodge and Miller’s Merry Manor.

The tags will remain on the tree only through November!

After selecting a tag or multiple tags, sign the line next to that person’s name on the sheet near the tree.

Return the unwrapped gifts to the Mental Health office or the Extension office in the courthouse by Dec. 2.

The gifts will be wrapped in decorated bags and delivered to local nursing home residents for their holiday parties.

If you are unable to shop but would like to help this cause with a monetary donation just make a check out to “Mental Health in Rush County Gift Lift” and mail it to Rush County Mental Health, Rush County Courthouse, 3rd Floor, Rushville, IN 46173.

For more information about this program contact local Mental Health executive director Pat Springman at 765-932-3721 or Rita Emsweller at 765-932-4438.

Gift Lift Committee members this year are Rita Emsweller, Lil Miller and Jana Dorsey.
