FIT Walkabouts continue

Rushville Republican

RUSHVILLE — The Fitness Initiative Team of Rush County has planned the schedule of walking opportunities for the next month. They have provided at least three times a week where residents can meet at a scheduled time and place and find at least one walking partner.

Featured in the new schedule are Friday walkabouts at Anytime Fitness. Meet at 1 p.m. to join other FIT participants on the treadmills (or more.) Non-members are requested to sign the guest register. This offer

is good for five Fridays, July 13 Ð Aug. 10.

Three morning walks are scheduled and the evening walks are at either 5:30 or 7 p.m. Be sure to check the schedule for the exact time. Hopefully, the daily temperatures will return to normal. Participants should use their

own judgment concerning the weather conditions.

One highlight will be the Lion Safari on July 25. Starting at 7 p.m. at the Amphitheater in Riverside Park walkers will search downtown for all of the Lions. How many will there be?

Cemeteries also remain on the schedule. The Walkabouts return to Calvary Cemetery on July 19 and East Hill Cemetery on Aug. 8. Both of those walks start at 5:30 p.m. Meet at the South side of Section 14 in East Hill and the South end of Calvary.

The full FIT Walkabout schedule can be found in a variety of locations. Look online at, and On Facebook, you can find the schedule at Partners for a Healthy Rush County. You can also call Purdue Extension Ð Rush County at 932-5974.
