---- — Rush County Schools continues offering the Free Summer Lunch Program open to all youth through Aug. 2.

This program, funded by the federal government through the state of Indiana, provides a nutritious lunch to any youth during the summer months.

There is no charge and no qualification required for youth to receive these free lunches each weekday this summer.

Rush County Schools urges families to take advantage of this opportunity.

“This is a wonderful program for our youth. Last year we provided a little over 5,000 lunches to kids at two sites. In our second year we are expanding to four sites to better serve the youth of our community,” said Norene Wright, program director.

Lunch will consist of a meat, bread, fruit or vegetable and milk.

Lunches will continue daily, Mondays through Fridays, throughout the summer.
