Citizens State Bank helps in fight against breast cancer

Rushville Republican

---- — It was a sea of pink during the month of October at Citizens State Bank! Employees put their blue jeans on and joined together with Lee National Denim Days to raise more than $3,000 in support of breast cancer awareness. It was “Casual Friday” for each employee who wanted to participate and wear jeans to work in exchange for a $5 donation. They also decided to put their own spin on the event by selling blue jean pockets, wearing pink t-shirts, decorating their branches and serving pink cookies and mints to their customers. This was a great way to involve our hometown customers in the fight against breast cancer, as many made the comment on how much they love it and hope we do it again next year!

Since 1996, Lee National Denim Day has helped raise more than $86 million to support the American Cancer Society in cancer research while helping improve the everyday lives of those with breast cancer - past, present and future. Julie Lacy, marketing coordinator, stated, “As breast cancer has touched almost every single person in some way or another, this is our way of making a difference in giving back.”
