TUESDAY (12/13)

l The Milroy Research Literary Club will meet at the home of Valerie Wilson

at 7 p.m. Members are reminded to bring a favorite cherished Christmas ornament for roll call "Show and Tell', and to bring a gift for the Christmas grab bag gift exchange. The club will not meet in January.

l The Rushville Chapter of Daughters of American Revolution will meet for

lunch at noon at the Grover museum, 52 W Broadway. Please RSVP to Kathy Wright. Please note the change of location.

l Phoenix Lodge # 62 will meet at 7:30 p.m. This will be the annual election of officers and all members are encouraged to attend.



WEDNESDAY (12/14)

l The Manilla Town & Country Homemakers Club will have a Christmas dinner meeting at 6 p.m. at the home of Norene Wright. The meal will be catered. Kellie Kuhn will provide devotions. Members will reveal their secret pals by exchanging gifts. New secret pal names will be issued for the coming year. There will be no meeting in January.

l Hint Hunters Homemakers Club will meet at 12:30 p.m. at the Wal-Mart parking lot to car pool to the Knightstown Cafe, 12 E. Main St., Knightstown. Roll call will be your favorite Christmas gift.

l The Rushville Breakfast Optimist Club Tri-Star Basketball Competition

will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Rushville Boys and Girls Club. The pass, shoot and dribble competition is open to boys and girls, ages 8 to 13. Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 in each age division: 8-9, 10-11 and 12-13-year-olds. Winners of each age group will have the opportunity to advance to the Optimist Tri-Star Regional Contest.



THURSDAY (12/15)

l Rush County Health Senior Screening Program from 9:30 to 11 a.m. and 1:30 to 3 p.m. in room 105 of the Rush County Courthouse with the Rush County Health Dept. Information 932-3103.



FRIDAY (12/16)

l Retirement reception honoring Dr. Davis W. Ellis from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 16 in room 105 at the Rush County Courthouse. In recognition of his many years of service to the community with the Rush County Health Dept. and board, all are invited to stop by and wish Dr. Ellis well in his retirement.



SATURDAY (12/17)

l The Boys and Girls Club of Rush County annual Christmas parties for youth ages 5 through 19. The boys' party will begin at 9 a.m. and the girls' party will start at noon. Kids do not have to be a member of the Boys and Girls Club to come and enjoy themselves at these parties.

l Santa's House hours. Santa will be in his shop in Willkie Park in keeping with the following schedule: Dec. 17 - 4 to 6 p.m.; and Dec. 18 - 4 to 6 p.m.

l Wesley United Methodist Church, corner of 8th Street and Ft. Wayne Road, invites the community to a Christmas meal from noon to 4 p.m. Come one come all to this complimentary meal while the food lasts. Delivery available for shut-ins by calling 938-9378. Non-perishable food donations are being collected for donation to the Rush County Food Pantry so that everyone might have a happy meal this Christmas.

l Santa Claus is coming to town in Milroy at 1:30 p.m. riding on a firetruck. All children are invited to come see Santa during his annual stop at Burns Funeral Home, 110 W. Main St., Milroy.

l Phoenix Lodge # 62 and Martha Poe #143 OES will have a Christmas Party at 6 p.m. Dec. 17 in the dining room of the Lodge Hall. All members and their families are welcome to attend. We are expecting a very special guest to appear before the night is over.

l The Libertarian Party of Rush County is hosting a concert for the public from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Elk's Lodge, 223 E. Third St. Recording artist Jordan Page will be playing at the Rushville Elk's Lodge, holiday music, covers and originals songs.

MONDAY (1/2)

l The Town of Glenwood meeting will be at 7 p.m. at Town Hall, 217 N. Main St., Glenwood.



MISCELLANEOUS

l The community food pantry is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday at 109 East Third Street. Bring your photo ID. Donations are welcome.

l Diabetes education classes are held on the first, second, and third Tuesday of each month from 5 to 7 p.m. at Rush Memorial Hospital Skills Lab, second floor. Cost is $10 per class with a $25 refund if all three classes are attended. For more info call 765-932-7416 or dena.bills@rushmemorial.com

l Partners for a Healthy Rush County meets at 6 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at the Boys & Girls Club. Partners for a Healthy Rush County is open to all interested businesses, organizations or individuals in Rush County.

l St. Paul's United Methodist Church has published a cook book with enough recipes for every day of the year plus 99 more from church members, family and friends. Cookbooks are $10 at the Rushville Pharmacy or St. Paul's church office. Proceeds support equipment needed for worship services. For more info call St. Paul's UMC at 932-3777.

l AA and Al-Anon meet at 7:30 p.m. Mondays at St. Paul United Methodist Church.

l Crossroads Serenity Group (open), an Al-Anon group, meets from 6-7 p.m. every Monday at 333 N. Main Street in Rushville. Information: Gail at 317-642-9112 or Larry at 765-277-9477.

l A dance at the Raleigh Community Club is held from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. every Saturday. Everyone is welcome.

l Rush County Victim's Assistance, Inc. has its monthly meeting on the third Monday of each month at 6 p.m. For location contact the office at 938-1555. The public always is invited to attend. For more information contact Barbara Kuhn at 938-1555.

l A parent support group meets at 6 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month in the Rushville Public Library meeting room. This group is for parents, guardians, caregivers or any family member of someone with mental or physical challenges. Those attending the group decide the topics.
