n A Holiday Expo is being held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today in the Rushville Elementary School gym. Admission will be $1. Nearly 50 vendors, which will include craft vendors and various home consultants and businesses will be participating. There also will be a bake sale, lunch, and door prizes. This event is a fundraiser for Rush County Victim's Assistance, Inc., St. Mary's PTA and the Rushville Republican NIE.
n Wesley United Methodist Church, 627 E. Eighth Street, Rushville will host a chili supper from 3 to 7 p.m. today. Menu: chili, crackers, peanut butter sandwich. Carry-out available. Contact Willie or Blanche at 765-938-9378.
n The Rushville Chapter DAR will meet at 1:30 p.m. today at the home of Lisa Winship. Paul David Smith will bring a Veteran's Day program. Members are reminded to bring their finished Christmas trees for the Veteran's Hospital.
n Milroy Elementary School will have its annual Fall Festival today. The public is invited to attend. A turkey-noodle dinner will be served from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Carry-outs available. n Headstone benefit for Joseph Edward Stanley, who lost his battle against small cell lung cancer. Your help is needed to assist his family through a financially difficult time. Benefit is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at American Legion Post No. 150 in Rushville. Dinner, music and dancing $6. Auction at 7:30 p.m. Music by DJ Brian Vanover (9 p.m.). Thank you for making this benefit to purchase a headstone a success.
n The Shawnee Valley Dulcimer Society based in Brookville will have its second workshop and festival starting at 12:30 p.m. today with dinner (free-will offering) at 6 p.m., concert ($5 donation) at 7:15 p.m. Make reservations by Tuesday by sending check or money order to Shawnee Valley Dulcimer Society, PO Box 264, New Trenton IN 47035. n The community is invited to attend nightly revival services beginning at 7 p.m. through today at Metamora Church of God Fall Camp Meeting. n The Hancock County Extension Homemakers is hosting a Holiday Extravaganza today at the Hancock Co. 4-H fairgrounds in the Exhibit Hall. n American Legion Auxiliary Unit 150 is having its regular meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday. We will discuss poppy sales, holiday events and future goals of the auxiliary. Come see what great things we are doing. Membership dues will be collected starting at 6 p.m.

n Rush County Health Department will hold a senior screening from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Rush County Senior Center. There will be screening for weight, blood pressure, pulse, respiration, hemoglobin, blood sugar and hemocult testing. Also, health education will be included. This is available to all Rush County senior citizens at no cost. Note change of starting time to 9 a.m.
n The ICAP board of directors will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the New Castle ICAP office.

n Milroy Community Club will have its fall breakfast fundraiser from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Nov. 21 at the Milroy Fire Station/Community Building. Menu includes pancakes, sausage, biscuits and gravy. Tickets can be pre-purchased from club members or at the door. Proceeds used for the Milroy Community Club’s yearly community service events.

n The Boys & Girls Club of Rush County is currently signing up for boys seventh and eighth grade leagues and ninth through 12th grade leagues. Sign-ups will run through Nov. 28. Play begins Dec. 1 and 3. Must be a club member. Dues $25, program fee $15. Late fee $5. If unable to pay talk to CPO William Walker at 932-2765. Participants receive T-shirt. No child will be turned away due to inability to pay.

WEDNESDAY (12/2)
n Arlington Elementary School is collecting canned food and clothes for The Drive event sponsored by The League again this year. The school is accepting clothing including shoes and canned food through Nov. 25 (the day before Thanksgiving). All food items will be donated to Arlington Christian Church’s food pantry for distribution in our community. AES will have a “Clothing Free-for-All” from 4 to 6 p.m. Dec. 2 in the school gym to distribute clothing to our community. All clothing items will be free to those who come.
THURSDAY (12/3)
n A blood drive is set to run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 3. The bloodmobile will be parked in the Trane parking lot. All donors will receive a Colt’s football autographed by No. 28 Marlin Jackson (defensive back).
MISCELLANEOUS
n Support the troops through the holidays: The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 150 would like to have the names of those family members who are serving our country that are in our community. We are wanting to be a support group for the family members that are home waiting for their soldier to return, and be able to send care packages to them. Contact the post at 765-561-8896 and allow us to have the information requested. Special thanks to those families that are serving with their loved ones for our freedom.

n The Community Food Pantry is open every Tuesday and Thursday and the last Saturday of every month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 109 East Third Street. Please bring your photo ID. Donations are welcome.
n The Rush County Victim's Assistance, Inc. has its monthly meeting on the third Monday of each month at 6 p.m. For location please contact the office at 938-1555. The public always is invited to attend. For more information contact Barbara Kuhn at 938-1555.
n The Board of Health for Rush County will hold its monthly meetings at 7 p.m. every third Tuesday except for December, when there is not a scheduled meeting.
n The Alzheimer’s Association offers support groups for caregivers of persons with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias. Participants receive emotional support, practical assistance in coping with issues they face and the latest information about research. Meetings are confidential and free. Meetings are held in Rushville at 7 p.m. on the third Thursday of every month at Rush Memorial Hospital, 1300 N. Main Street, third floor conference room. This group is for parents, guardians, caregivers or any family member of someone with mental or physical challenges. Those attending the group decide the topics.
