n A Veterans Day program will not be held at 9 a.m. today at Arlington Elementary School in the gymnasium. The program will be Nov. 10.

n The next eScrap Collection of electronics for recycling will be from 8 to 11 a.m. today at Perkins and Water streets in the back garage of the Rush County Sheriff’s Department. There will be a small fee for televisions and computer monitors. All other items with a circuit board will be accepted at no charge.

n Glenwood Volunteer Fire Department will be riding in memory of fallen comrades today with proceeds to benefit the Kyle Henderson Scholarship Fund. Registration from 11 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Riders leave the Glenwood firehouse at 2 p.m. Cost is $10 per person and includes a meal at the end of the ride. n Trinity Presbyterian Church, Seventh and Harrison streets in Rushville, will have its annual spaghetti dinner from 4 to 8 p.m. today. Carry-out available. Tickets available from members or at the door. A portion of the profits have been designated to aid a cancer victim. Please come enjoy good food and fellowship.

n A multi-family rummage sale will be held from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at the New Salem Lions Club. This is a fundraiser for the RCHS band students’ Summer 2010 Europe trip.

n The annual Westland School Reunion will be today at Shiloh Christian Church. Shiloh Church is at the intersection of Hancock County roads 500 East and 500 South. Anyone who attended Westland School is welcome. Social hour is at 11 a.m. with dinner served at noon. Cost is $12 per person at the door. Call 317-462-7873 to make reservations.

SUNDAY (10/11)

n Big Flatrock Christian Church would like to invite everyone to its annual Knowles Shaw/Homecoming Celebration at 10 a.m. Sunday. Special guests bringing the message will be the award-wining Kentucky Sisters. A pitch-in dinner will follow the service. The church is located one mile east of Gowdy on 650 S. TUESDAY (10/13)

n Sign-ups for the fourth grade Girl Scouts troop will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Girl Scouts cabin located at 1321 North Sexton Street. The troop plans to meet the second and fourth Tuesday evenings of the month. Registration fee is $12. Any questions can be directed to Bernice Meyer at (765) 561-0855.

n The Milroy Research Literary Club will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Norma King will be in charge of the program.
