Rushville Consolidatd High School principal Matt Vance has announced several recent awards.

He announced the September winners of the Character Counts Award. The trait was “trustworthiness” and the selected students are Denise Amos, Jessica Neeb, Carl Judd, Chris Young and Alex Leisure. Staff members selected are Cheryl Miller and Blair Orme.

Winners receive a certificate, T-shirt and lunch at Pizza King.

Character Counts is a program designed to recognize good character traits in both students and staff. Each month a trait will be announced and then students and faculty have an opportunity to nominate others for this award.

RCHS thanks this month’s sponsor Kevin Snyder of American Family Insiurance.

The RCHS principal also announced that Amy Bare has been named a Commended Student in the 2009 National Merit Scholarship Program. A Letter of Commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation will be presented to this scholastically talented senior.
