n Friendly Homemakers Club will meet at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the home of Marilyn Schroeder. Margaret Reynolds will be co-hostess. Roll call: “Where did you go to school and when did you finish?” Lesson: “Challenges of healthy restaurant eating” by Margaret Reynolds. Everyone is invited to spend an afternoon of great friendship. Refreshments will be served.
n The Manilla Town & Country Homemakers Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the home of Teresa Farthing. Lois Anderson will serve as co-hostess. Devotions will be given by Barbara Kuhn and Evonne Kuhn will present a lesson on "The Challenge of Healthy Restaurant Eating." Roll call is "Your Favorite Restaurant."
n Noble Niters will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the New Salem Lion’s Club building with Cheryl Kramer as hostess. Special activity will be Noble Niters’ Memory Program. Any former members are welcoemn to attend this meeting which celebrates 50 years of the club’s existence.
THURSDAY (9/24)
n Seasonal flu and pneumonia vaccines will be given at the Rush County Health Office Department, Room 105 at the courthouse. The vaccines will given from 8 to 11:30 a.m. and from 1 to 6 p.m. Thursday. Free-will donations will be welcome to cover the vaccine and administration cost. Medicaid and Medicare billing will also be available. Additional information and questions may be directed to (765) 932-3103.
n Auditions for the upcoming children's production of the Rush County Players, "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the RCP Playhouse, 201 W. Morgan Street, Rushville. For more information contact Cindy Amos at 765-561-5579.

n Food pantry will be at Rushville homecoming football game Fridfay. Will accept any non-perishble food items.
SATURDAY (9/26)
n Area Boy Scouts will participate in a Rush County Camporee Friday through Sunday at the amphitheater. Sept. 26 we invite Rush County to come and see what Boy Scouts is all about. There will be lots of activities for everyone to do, including a hog roast and a performance by the Crossroads of America Scout Band, so please join us for a day filled with fun and fellowship.
