n Registration for Rushville Elementary School will be from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until noon Friday. Registration at Arlington, Mays and Milroy will also be taking place in keeping with this schedule.

n Registration for Rushville Elementary School will be from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until noon Friday. Registration at Arlington, Mays and Milroy will also be taking place in keeping with this schedule.

n Rush County has received $5,987 FEMA stimulus funds. These funds are intended to be used for emergency housing, shelter and food pantry services. A meeting of the FEMA board is scheduled at 1:30 p.m. today at the Booker T. Washington Community Center in Rushville. Anyone interested should contact Linda Wildey at 765-932-2863.

n The First Church of God of Rushville will be having a rummage and bake sale in the church's gymnasium from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Friday.

FRIDAY (7/31)

n Phoenix Lodge No. 62 F.&A.M. is having a Fellow Craft Degree at 6 p.m. Friday. All Fellow Craft and Master Masons are welcome to attend.

n Homer C.U. Church will have an inside rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday. Clothes, crafts, dishes, toys, kitchen cabinets, Christmas items and more.

AUGUST 2009

SATURDAY (8/1)

n Rushville's fifth-grade girls’ travel basketball team will hold a car wash at 9 a.m. Saturday at Wal-Mart.

n Mark your calendars for 7 p.m. Saturday at Plum Creek Christian Church for “Music, Music, Music,” a praise-fest led by the youth of the church including the young at heart. Several individuals are scheduled to be featured on the drums. It is open to anyone and everyone.

n Annual pork chop dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Posey Township Volunteer Fire Department. Pork chops, green beans, corn on cob, baked potatoes, bread and butter, tomatoes, chips, applesauce, drink, dessert. Per person $8, hot dog meal $3.
